Summer Residency/Institute

“It was an incredible residency. A gift beyond my wildest imagination.”

~ Shawn Sweeney

A one-week residency, required for the M.Ed. and M.A. programs, takes place at IHE’s campus, situated on 28 beautiful oceanfront acres overlooking the mountains of Acadia National Park. This energizing, hands-on experience is a very popular part of the program, offering students an opportunity to practice humane education with fellow students and faculty, while developing lifelong relationships.

“Residency was valuable professionally, emotionally, and spiritually. It exceeded my expectations and more than matched my hopes! It was informative, practical, challenging, magical, full, and fun! THANK YOU for the gift of the week.” ~ Kurt Schmidt

If there are any extra spaces in the program, Valparaiso graduate certificate students and non-Valpo students can apply to participate on a first-come, first-served basis to Summer Institute. To find out about openings and to be put on a waiting list, please contact: marypat@humaneeducation.org. Or call 207-667-1172.

Residency Schedule: June 26 – 30, 2017
