Our everyday language is filled with messages, framing, and implications that we don’t even notice. But the language we use matters. What we say and how we say it has a lasting impact that influences our culture, policy, and the lives of others.

Paying attention to our language choices is another small way we can more closely align our values and actions.

Whether it’s removing words from our vocabularies, reframing speciesist, sexist or ableist language, or creating new language that avoids violence, there’s a lot we can do with the words we use to promote a just, compassionate, and humane world.

Check out our Power of Language Pinterest board to find more resources and ideas for making your language matter.
