Sowing Seeds Workshops

Give people hope. Help real change happen. Bring a Sowing Seeds Workshop to your school or community!

Our Sowing Seeds Workshop will teach you and your colleagues effective ways to inspire your students to contribute to a compassionate, sustainable, peaceable world. Learn to bring the powerful, vital strategies of humane education to a variety of audiences. This workshop offers:

  • Dynamic activities that demonstrate the effectiveness of humane education.
  • Practical tips for teaching your students to help people, animals, the environment, and themselves at the same time.
  • An introduction to the MOGO (most good, least harm) principle, designed to help you explore your own values, so you can live in a way that’s a model others want to follow.
  • Opportunities to connect with like-minded educators and advocates and to become part of an exciting educational movement that serves as a powerful and effective form of activsm.
Each participant receives a copy of the book The Power and Promise of Humane Education by IHE President Zoe Weil, which includes strategies and sample activities that educators can incorporate into their teaching in age-appropriate ways.

Whether you’re an educator, activist or concerned citizen, our Sowing Seeds Workshop will help channel your passion for a better world into effective and fulfilling humane education.

As a high school student, I found [Sowing Seeds] the most educational thing I have ever been part of.... my goals have become clear. You have shown me I can do anything. This was life changing, and I will never forget it. You are changing the world, and make me feel like I can too."
~ Allison Jaquish, British Columbia, Boulder, CO
