Bringing an IHE Workshop to Your Community
Bring transformation to your community and your world!
Host a MOGO (most good) or Sowing Seeds Workshop in your community.
Our MOGO Workshop is for people who want to do the most good and least harm for themselves, other people, animals, and the environment. Participants will learn powerful, enjoyable ways to create the world they want to see and the life they want to live.
Our Sowing Seeds Workshop will teach participants effective ways to inspire their students to contribute to a compassionate, sustainable, peaceable world and will help them learn to bring the powerful, vital strategies of humane education to a variety of audiences.
Our workshops are offered frequently in schools and communities, all around the U.S., and occasionally abroad. We are always looking for organizations and schools who want to host a Sowing Seeds and/or MOGO workshop in their region.

What Do I Need to Host a Workshop?
Workshop Participants:
A good group size for a workshop is 35-75. A minimum of 25 participants is needed. Talks can accommodate an audience from 25-500+.
Venue & Equipment Needs:
The ideal space for a workshop is a large, light-filled meeting room that is handicapped accessible and has good A/V equipment. The venue should be fairly easy for participants to find, and include parking, and preferably, easy access to public transportation.
Other possible needs for the event:
- One large dry-erase white board with (no odor) markers and eraser;
- 2 milk crates;
- Chair for each participant;
- Large table for IHE materials and books for sale;
- Video projector and laptop.
“Organizing this workshop in my community was one of the most rewarding and enjoyable experiences I’ve had all year! Thank you!”
~ Sophia Erlsten, M. Ed. Student and Local Organizer of MOGO Orlando Workshop, 2008
Workshop Promotion:
The majority of promotion and outreach is handled by the host organization. For our part: we supply samples of press releases and fliers that you can modify for your outreach. Additionally, we post the event to our website and include it in our bi-monthly News & Announcements. If time, we may also post the event to a small selection of online calendars, submit it to handful of national magazines for posting in their calendar sections, and send it to a small group of our contacts, who will forward it to their constituents. We can also provide to the host organization some basic advice regarding promoting the workshop.
Workshop Pricing:
We charge a sliding scale of $2,200-$3,000 for a one-day workshop. This fee goes toward our expenses directly related to the workshop, including the facilitator fee, books, shipment of books and handouts, and administrative time to coordinate the workshop. It also provides us with some program development funds, allowing us to improve the program, train new facilitators, and do outreach to organize new workshops.
What we cover/provide:
- Books (up to 50 participants)
- Sample press release, email announcement and flier
- Images for promotional purposes
- Assistance with registration, if desired
- Certificates of completion, if desired
What the host site covers:
- Facilitator travel to the workshop city
- Travel for facilitator from airport to lodging and workshop site
- Lodging for facilitator (preferably staying in someone’s home)
- Catering for lunch
- Marketing or promotional printing (if necessary)
"There's nothing more rewarding than bringing compassionate people together and witnessing their transformation into humane educators. The positive energy and enthusiasm at a Sowing Seeds workshop is contagious, and participants walk away not only with excitement and passion to teach about humane issues, but with the skills and tools to become successful humane educators. Helping to organize a Sowing Seeds workshop takes work and commitment, but the benefits are tremendous."
~ Dani Dennenberg, M.Ed., Local Organizer of Sowing Seeds San Diego, 2002, 2005
