Residency 2009
Fourteen M.Ed. and HECP students gather together August 3-7, 2009, at IHE's headquarters in Surry, Maine, to learn, share and connect.

IHE's 2009 Residency students and faculty.
Students practice communicating compassionately and effectively with each other, doing role plays as if teaching humane education in an actual educational setting.
IHE M.Ed. student, Michelle Thames, discusses a humane education lesson plan.
HECP student, Bill Palka, leads participants in an activity focused on environmental issues.
As part of a humane education activity, participants choose a rock that especially appeals to them.
IHE M.Ed. student, Derin Darby, leads students in an activity that uses how young people respond to certain animals (puppies, kittens, rats, snakes, etc.) to emphasis the assumptions that we make about others.
In a humane education activity, IHE students cooperate to build a monument to their accomplishments of the week, and a signpost for their future goals. The cairn begins with a strong foundation.
IHE's terrific faculty - Melissa Feldman, Mary Pat Champeau, and Zoe Weil -- at the Residency cook out.
