August 2007 MOGO Workshop
On August 11-12 we offered our first MOGO (Most Good) Workshop to 29 participants at our beautiful headquarters in Surry, Maine. We had spectacular weather and an extraordinary group of people, and by the time everyone left on Sunday afternoon, they had each completed their own personalized Action Plan for living a more MOGO life both in terms of their everyday choices (products, food, clothing, shelter, transportation) as well as their volunteer work, activism, and careers.
MOGO goers smiling, shining & ready to make positive changes in their lives...and in the world!

Participants work in groups to share the MOGO choices they make now, and to explore the choices that they can begin to make that are doable and appealing.

Participants take time to self-reflect, in the beauty of the natural world, in order to prepare their own action plans.
Here’s what some participants had to say about their MOGO experience:
“Thanks to you all for a very stimulating, informative, spiritual, and revitalizing weekend. I suspect the light bulbs will continue to go on long after I’m home!”
~ Linda Starkweather, Canandaigua, NY
“This workshop did something inside of me that I did not expect – I feel such a call to action.”
~ Kim Korona, Detroit, MI
“Everyone here this weekend was so nurturing, caring, unpretentious, bright! From attendees to staff at IHE, it really created an environment where I felt we could all grow and flourish.”
~ Karen Shih, Brooklyn, NY
“Thank you. Thank you. Thank you! By nature I am a ‘quiet advocate,’ trying to do the right things and make the right choices in life – to practice MOGO on some level. This workshop has helped me refocus my energy and desire, to feel okay about my failings to be perfect but encouraged to do better on a daily basis.”
~ Doug Bowie, York, ME
“Really interesting and great angle to address the problems of the world. I definitely came in with trepidation and not too much enthusiasm, but I was blown away. Thank you."
~ Stephanie Morales, Brooklyn, NY
“Excellent! Worth every minute!”
~ Cherie Herne, York, ME
“This was really quite wonderful. Interacting with the other MOGO attendees was very, very good, helpful, enjoyable. I admit I sometimes avoid group situations, but I really learned a lot from fellow attendees as well."
~ Anonymous
"The workshop was all I had hoped and more. We enjoyed the people, the learnings, the nature activities, the setting. We feel validated that we are on the right path and just need to continue."
~ Fern Dews, N. Canton, Ohio
