Farm Sanctuary has been rescuing farmed animals and empowering people to make kinder choices for decades. So what a great place to participate in a Sowing Seeds Workshop! Join us at Farm Sanctuary's beautiful New York location in Watkins Glen to learn how to offer effective and transformative humane education programs! Facilitator Freeman Wicklund will lead you through a dynamic, interactive, empowering weekend. Freeman founded the open rescue movement in the U.S. and has reached thousands with his humane education presentations.

The registration fee for this workshop is $165.

There will be no refunds for cancellations after July 10.
The registration fee includes vegetarian/vegan meals for the whole weekend and a copy of The Power and Promise of Humane Education by Zoe Weil. Registration DOES NOT include housing.

Saturday: 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Evening activities: 7:00 - 9:00 pm)
Sunday: 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
The workshop agenda:
Each group is unique and we prefer to allow our facilitators the flexibility to best meet the needs of the group, but the basic agenda includes:
Day 1 - Saturday: An introduction to humane education; the "what and why" of humane education; teaching a basic humane education class using the 4 elements; a communication workshop; situational role plays; critical thinking video; and, a reverence building activity. The evening includes the optional viewing of videos relevant to humane education.
Day 2 - Sunday: Includes many activities to bring to a range of educational settings; role plays; reverence building; and, incorporating humane education into your life and work.

Farm Sanctuary's New York facility is set amidst rolling green hills and forests in the Finger Lakes Region of upstate New York, located next door to Sugar Hill State Forest, just west of Watkins Glen. It is a 45-minute drive west of Ithaca and a 1½-hour drive southeast of Rochester.
