Event Type: Workshops
Please join us for a presentation by IHE's President, Zoe Weil, author of Most Good, Least Harm: A Simple Principle for a Better World and Meaningful Life. The New York Open Center is hosting a talk and book signing with Zoe.
Zoe has been teaching about interconnected global issues for more than 20 years. In this interactive presentation, she will speak about the 7 keys to the MOGO (most good) Principle, which will help motivate you to make your own life an expression of your deepest values. The MOGO Principle is a philosophy and path that can create a better world and more joyful, healthy, and engaged lives. When we do the most good and the least harm in our daily choices, acts of citizenship, community, work, and volunteerism, we create a life of inner peace while contributing to the building of a peaceful, sustainable world for all.
Schedule:
1:00 – 2:30 pm: Mini-workshop/presentation
2:30 – 3:00 pm: Book signing
This event is free of charge and open to the public.
“Zoe Weil’s amazing book is a recipe for saving the soul of America, and beyond. Most Good, Least Harm is a Must Read Now for everyone who wants to do something to make our country and the world a better place for the next generation, as well for all of us who have not been as effective as we could be in improving the human condition. It is a recipe for creating a nation of responsive social heroes, who collectively can achieve the positive changes we all desire.”
~ Dr. Philip G. Zimbardo, Stanford professor and author of The Lucifer Effect
“I’ve enjoyed your entire approach. Sometimes I come to these things and it’s so guilt-ridden. It’s like if you leave this talk without guilt, you’ve missed something, and YOU didn’t do that at all. What you’re emphasizing is exactly your seven [keys to MOGO]: joy, what’s your value system, pick an option and fix it. So, thank you.”
~ Liz Winet, Southbend, Indiana, from College of the Atlantic (COA) talk in Bar Harbor, Maine on July 31, 2009
