Despite the challenging economy we spend a lot of money on dining and snacking out. More than half of us eat at a restaurant at least once a week, and let’s not forget that daily coffee habit many of us have. All those trips create a lot of unnecessary waste.

Here’s just one simple solution: take your own container.

When you go out to eat, bring a reusable container for leftovers (you can keep it in the car if you’re worried about forgetting). And when you fill up for that daily drink, bring your own reusable cup or mug.

A few minutes of mindfulness means a whole lot less waste – and you may inspire friends and family to follow your lead.
