The required five-day residency for all IHE M.Ed. and M.A. students is one of the highlights of the graduate program. An energizing week that includes practical, hands-on learning, it offers students an opportunity to practice and explore humane education issues, skills, and activities with fellow students and faculty.
Residency takes place at the Institute for Humane Education’s beautiful ocean-front campus in Surry, Maine. It includes dynamic, interactive training, which helps students hone presentation skills, practice peer-teaching and create community. Students meet their distance-learning faculty in person and develop lifelong relationships with other humane educators.
We also have space available in our student residency for educators who are not in our graduate program (our Summer Institute). Find out more and apply here.
