Humane education can be integrated into pretty much any career or school subject. One of the trickier subjects, though, is higher level math.
IHE M.Ed. graduate and university math teacher, Kurt Schmidt, spends his days finding creative and relevant ways to infuse the two; and as you can see from his lesson plans like Financial Math, which uses issues of debt to learn about compound interest and similar financial calculations, and Risky Business, which uses the tar sands to teach probability theory skills, he’s succeeding.
